Training

 

TAKE 10!® teacher trainings are fun, interactive, and designed to build a teacher’s confidence to implement the program. The goal is to provide trainings for the host organization that enhances TAKE 10! implementation and sustainability.  Training content also includes region or state-specific content, information about the link between health and learning, teacher wellness, and the benefits of curriculum integration. 

Training Sessions: TAKE 10! trainers will provide a maximum of 3 training sessions in 1 day. Day-long train-the-trainer sessions are also available.

Training Expenses: The host organization covers all travel expenses associated with the TAKE 10! training. In addition, TAKE 10! training materials should be provided to teachers by the host organization.

Typical Costs for TAKE 10! Training

TAKE 10! Trainer:  To be respectful of host organizations' budgets, the TAKE 10! staff aim to obtain the most reasonable airfares, rental cars, and lodging available to minimize expenses. Typical costs for 1 trainer includes the following:

  • Airfare: round-trip airfare from Atlanta or Washington DC to airport closest to training destination
  • Rental car: $35–$55/day (plus taxes, fuel, and fees) -- rental car only if necessary
  • Hotel: typically $125-$175/night (varies widely by geographic region)
  • Food: $50/day
  • TAKE 10! trainer honoraria: $1,000 per day per trainer

TAKE 10! Training Materials: TAKE 10! teacher training materials are $15-$25 per participant, depending on the type of training and training content requested by the host organization. Each training participant must have a set of TAKE 10! training materials.  If the host prefers to make copies, a $25 fee is charged to the host organization for the creation of a CD and a sample folder.

If each participating teacher is to receive a TAKE 10! grade-specific kit, these are billed at $82.00 each plus 8%-10% shipping depending on the destination. Please contact us for information on volume discounts on TAKE 10! kit purchases.
